Corset TREILLAGE
THE OGIRIN
The first rose garden in the world exists because a wife told her husband to come out of the darkroom. Jules Gravereaux started collecting in 1894. By 1910 he had every known form of the genus Rosa — eight thousand of them. In 1914 his village changed its name to L'Haÿ-les-Roses.
But a climbing rose has no rigid stem. Left alone it ends on the ground. So the architect built the garden as ironwork first — arches, pylons, panels of lattice — and trained the roses onto it. What you see is flowers. What holds them is a cage.
TREILLAGE. Take out the black and there is no shape. Only flowers, on the floor.
THE MOTIF
How to Measure
Bust
Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, keeping it level across your back and parallel to the floor. The tape should be snug but not compressing—you should be able to slide two fingers underneath.
Natural Waist
Find the narrowest point of your torso—usually 2–3 cm above your navel. Bend gently to one side: the crease that forms is your natural waist. Wrap the tape around this point.
Hips
Stand with your feet together. Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your hips and seat—typically 18–23 cm below your natural waist. Keep the tape parallel to the floor.
