THE LEGEND

She began as a dancer in the circus of Constantinople — the daughter of a bear keeper, applauded and dismissed in the same breath. She ended crowned in the purple of Byzantium, ruling an empire beside a man who signed nothing without her. When rebellion set the city on fire and the court begged to flee, it was Theodora who refused: the purple, she said, makes the finest shroud.

THE PIECE

A corset in imperial red, its surface set with a constellation of crystals applied one by one by hand — the mosaics of Ravenna translated onto the body. Structured, unapologetic, radiant under any light. THEODORA is not worn to enter a room. It is worn to own it.

Each corset is embroidered entirely OVER 160 HOURS OF HANDWORK at the frame. Please allow 3-5 weeks for your piece to be created. Crafted exclusively for you.

How to Measure

Bust

Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, keeping it level across your back and parallel to the floor. The tape should be snug but not compressing—you should be able to slide two fingers underneath.

ⓘ Measure while wearing your usual bra, or the bra you plan to wear under the corset.

Natural Waist

Find the narrowest point of your torso—usually 2–3 cm above your navel. Bend gently to one side: the crease that forms is your natural waist. Wrap the tape around this point.

⚠ For corsets, always use the natural waist—not the hip bone or the waistband of your trousers.

Hips

Stand with your feet together. Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your hips and seat—typically 18–23 cm below your natural waist. Keep the tape parallel to the floor.

ⓘ Move the tape up and down slightly to find the widest point—this is what matters, not a fixed distance from the waist.

Material: Lace, sculptural straps, velvet cording shaped and set by hand, cotton inner bodice, hand beaded, over 5.000 elements of graduated sizes, beads and crystals, OVER 160 HOURS OF HANDWORK.
